Ever since I can remember, I have loved taking photos. When I was around ten years old, I recall going to the local newsagency with my mum and seeing one of Anne Geddes calendars with the cutest babies in flower pots. I thought that this was the most amazingly adorable idea and have followed her work ever since.
Life got busy and I put aside my dreams of being a photographer. This was of course until I had my first son in 2011 and my love for photography came racing back up to the surface. With the loving support of my husband and my family, I have had many opportunities since then to further my skills and purchase many pieces of professional equipment including my favourite items, my Nikon D750 and my very favourite lens, the 35mm Sigma.
My business name (CMZ Photography) represents my three sons; Colter, Magnus and Zephyr. With these three beautiful boys as my muse, I have fallen in love with newborn photography. There is nothing more exciting to me than capturing those first few weeks of a babies life where everything is so new. Whether it be a kiss from Mummy, or being curled up in Daddy's arms. There are so many moments that you will want to cherish forever.
Babies grow up so quickly and every stage of their growth is so worth recording. My second love is capturing families and I highly recommend updating your family photos yearly. It is so great when the whole family really gets into it and has a good time. Bribes are definitely ok with me so don't forget to pack the kids favourite snacks as rewards. You can also bring along any books, games or favourite toys just in case they aren't quite feeling it that day. Children, especially toddlers, seem to have their own agendas. Please don't let this worry you. I will work in with their vibe and routine and take photos along the way.
Life is so precious and every day is a gift. My passion is capturing these fleeting moments in time for you to treasure forever. In a time where we rely so much on our phones to record the big moments, I believe it has never been so important to have high quality images that you can enlarge and frame for your lounge room wall.
